The deadline to submit nominations closes on 30 August. ## A Second Edition with a New Collective Category The inaugural edition of the Women in Beer Awards, held in 2025, received more than 280 nominations and counted among its winners figures such as Kate Hyde, Lily Waite-Marsden and Melissa Cole. The awards were created to make visible and celebrate the contributions of women across all areas of the brewing industry, beyond production alone. The main novelty of 2026 is the Women Collective of the Year category, sponsored by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), which recognises groups of women who have had an impact on their communities or promoted positive change in the industry. It is the first group category in the awards, in contrast to the rest, which recognise individual careers. Amélie Tassin, founder of Women in Beer®, stated: > It has been fantastic to see how these awards were received last year. But it also confirmed how necessary this kind of celebration is for the brewing industry. The support from the industry and beer lovers has been extraordinary, and I am very proud to bring the event back this year. ## Eleven Categories Open to the Whole Industry The awards cover a broad spectrum of roles within the industry. The categories for the 2026 edition are: - **Brewer of the Year** (SIBA): professional brewer with more than 3 years of experience. - **Rising Star Award** (Simpsons Malt): person with fewer than 3 years in the industry (from 1 January 2023). - **Communicator of the Year** (Crisp Malt): beer communicator via writing, podcast, video, social media or education. - **Entrepreneur of the Year** (Thomas Fawcett & Sons): entrepreneur with a successful business in the beer sector. - **Beer Expert of the Year** (Yakima Chief Hops): expert in any area of beer. - **Mentor of the Year** (Murphy & Sons): someone who supports others in the industry through guidance and inspiration. - **Industry Champion of the Year**: active advocate for the brewing industry through community initiatives or volunteering. - **Beer Creative of the Year** (WHC Lab): designers, illustrators, photographers, content creators or brand developers. - **Hospitality Leader of the Year** (BBPA): leader in beer hospitality — bars, pubs, taprooms or festivals. - **Women Collective of the Year** (CAMRA, new): group of women with community impact or who have promoted positive change in the industry. - **Women in Beer 2026 – Industry Icon** (Charles Faram): selected by the jury as a reference whose work and influence have shaped the industry.
