4\u00b0C<\/li>\n<li>Consumer refrigerator at 4\u00b0C<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the most basic level, the choice of a cold chain temperature of 4\u00b0C (39.2\u00b0F) is due to it being a standard in food handling, as there is a vast amount of infrastructure and equipment configured to this temperature, known as &#8220;refrigerator temperature.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, it is the reference temperature used by most studies and associated scientific literature, such as the renowned book <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3q1b41s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Freshness<\/a> by English scientist <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charles_Bamforth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charles Bamforth<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_20748\"
