The Teku glass is an original design developed in 2006, and its name is an acronym drawn from the names of its creators, Teo Musso of the Italian microbrewery Baladin and the sensory analyst Lorenzo Dabove (Kuaska).

The main goal of the Teku glass was to create a standard vessel for the industry that could be used in the sensory analysis of beer.

The Teku glass was originally inspired by the design of the ISO glass used for the sensory evaluation of wine, resulting in an elegant, functional glass that was later manufactured by the famous German glassmakers at Rastal.

Broadly speaking, the Teku is an angular hybrid between a tall wine glass and a tulip glass, designed to enhance the organoleptic characteristics (aroma and flavor) of beer for tasting and evaluation, and it can be used with any beer style.

It has a tall, thin stem that lets the Teku open out more slenderly than a tulip glass, but like the tulip it also has a notable opening that better captures the nuances of different beer styles, encouraging good head retention that traps aromatic compounds.

Its size also leaves adequate space for the head to form, while its open bowl encourages that formation and supports it well.

Finally, its long stem provides a firm grip without the hand changing the serving temperature.

The standard version holds 42.5 cl (14.4 oz) and stands 19.6 cm (7.7 in) tall, while the Mini Teku holds 33 cl (11.2 oz) and measures 18.6 cm (7.3 in).

These are the recommended beer styles.
